Last month, we invited animal shelters and rescue groups to participate in a one-month pilot to help test our new MUTTS Social for Shelters program.
The response was astounding. We heard from more than 270 animal organizations, large and small, from all over the world! We’re incredibly thankful for your enthusiasm about this project, and we read carefully through each submission. We were touched by many who took the time to write thoughtful messages within our questionnaire.
As you can imagine, narrowing down such a large list of great animal organizations was a challenging task. Ultimately, we selected 10 to participate in the pilot program, and there were a variety of factors that helped us reach our decision. For instance, we wanted to include groups that ranged in size — from large municipal shelters in bustling cities to small, close-knit groups in rural or underserved areas. We also selected organizations in multiple regions of the country. (We considered some non-U.S. groups as well, but somewhat by chance, our final selection included only U.S.-based organizations.)
Please join us in welcoming the following animal organizations to our MUTTS Social for Shelters pilot program:
Animal Care Centers of New York City | New York, New York
Ark-Valley Humane Society | Buena Vista, Colorado
City of Chico Animal Shelter | Chico, California
Humane Society of Saline County | Bauxite, Arkansas
Humane Society of the Treasure Coast | Palm City, Florida
Lincoln County Animal Shelter | Newport, Oregon
Louisiana SPCA | New Orleans, Louisiana
Motley Zoo Animal Rescue | Redmond, Washington
Palm Valley Animal Center | Edinburg, Texas
St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center | Madison, New Jersey
Throughout the month of August, these groups will help us fine-tune MUTTS Social for Shelters. After that (with a short break so we can gather and analyze feedback), we’ll open the program to more shelters and rescues.
Thank you again to all who submitted. We truly appreciate your interest in the program and, most importantly, everything you do to help animals! Please stay tuned for updates about how you can participate in the future.
