A Great Day With Good Flights (Photo Gallery)

On April 5, 2022, Patrick and members of Team MUTTS were lucky enough to greet a Greater Good Charities rescue flight headed from Louisiana to New Jersey packed with 47 adoptable and adorable pups! Take a look at the photos from the day's adventure below.

Loading Up in Louisiana

Greater Good Charities partnered with rescue workers in Louisiana and Alabama to coordinate the flight. Touch Down in New Jersey

Greater Good Charities partnered with St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center and Char Wills German Shepherd Rescue in New Jersey to coordinate adoptions for these precious pups!

Head to our Facebook page to watch a live unloading of the plane! After the pups deplaned, they were transported to St. Hubert's to be placed with rescues and fosters until they find their forever families.

An Update on Queenie and the Bayou Babies

We're thrilled to report that Queenie and four of her pups have already been adopted from St. Hubert's!

As of April 14, just two of Queenie's adorable pups — Ivory and Lilac — remain available for adoption.

But plenty of other dogs are available for adoption as well, including Patrick, the sweet dog pictured here with our Patrick. Head to the St. Hubert's website to set up a meet and greet with any of their amazing pups.

We're so thankful we got to participate in this event, and are in awe of the amazing work that these rescues, Greater Good, and all of their partners do each and every day. And we're so proud to have played a small role in the adoption stories of these wonderful pups.

Imagine our heartbreak to discover Queenie is dying from heartworm disease. She contracted it while in Louisiana and despite St Hubert’s promise that she was free of heartworm, they knew that she might indeed have this killer. Two negative results from tests administered six months apart is the only way to say a dog is free. She didn’t receive that kind of care they promise

Hi Patrick,
I wanted to drop you a note to say how much I’m loving this series.
A few years ago I fostered for a group here in Houston called RPM, Rescued Pets Movement (https://rescuedpetsmovement.org/ ) and they have done AMAZING things. Since they began in 2013, they have saved over 71,000 animals.
And it’s not just the absolute numbers but the relative numbers, too. BARC (the Houston “pound”) used to have about a 50/50 rehoming rate, but with RPM’s help, over the years they have achieved the impossible: a rehoming rate high enough to qualify as a no-kill shelter (a lot of people don’t know that even “no-kill” shelters can euthanize 10% of the animals brought in and not lose that enviable descriptor).
Now, no one will ever confuse a governmental agency that MUST take all comers as a no-kill shelter, but just being able to achieve those numbers is breathtaking.
At any rate, I just wanted to reach out to let you know your work is appreciated. There are so many people working so hard to try to save these lives, it’s a joy to see you celebrating them.

Thanks! Nice to see this. I donate to St. Hubert’s and they are great in helping these pups get adopted. I hope all these dogs find very happy homes. I love the Mutts website and look forward to the “daily Mutts” comic strip to greet me every morning! As another blogger put it perfectly, there are still good people doing good work in the world" I too believe and practice the healing power of adoption and rescue, as all my fur babies came from such a situation. Please support your local animal shelter, whether it be through adoption, donation or even volunteer, you’ll never know how much good your intervention of choice will impact the lives of those you touch. Now, more than ever, goodness, kindness and compassion are more important than ever. Continue to be the best example and others will follow. Peace!

All of these pictures make me so happy! If I could, I would give every one of these dogs a home. Since that is impossible, I always adopt rescues when I have room and donate to charities who help with adoptions.
