1. Books of Poetry
Does your mom have a favorite poet or author? A favorite poetry style or literary topic? This is an idea that’s been floating around social media for awhile, but we still think it’s hilarious and absolutely charming. Do you (and/or your siblings) have a few funny childhood photos? Try to “recreate” them and present the set of images (new and old) as a humorous gift for Mom!
3. Candles! (But not just any candles.)
Anyone can pick up a nice-smelling, last-minute candle from their nearest home goods store — not that we’d blame you if you do, of course! But if you want to get your candle-lovin’ mama something extra special, we recommend one that is eco-friendly, hand-poured, and made with soy wax (which burns longer than the paraffin wax used to make traditional candles). 4. A Personalized Gift Basket
It can be tough to pick out one single, super-special, wow-worthy gift, and we’ve all been there. Baskets can include hobby-themed items (gardening or art supplies, for instance) or generally useful items like stationery or travel mugs.

6. A Gratitude Jar
This Mother’s Day gift idea is small but oh-so-sentimental, and it’s a great craft project for either adults or children. Plus, it’s easy to make! Get some nice paper, cut out a bunch of rectangles (approximately 1″ x 3″), and jot down all the reasons you’re grateful for your mom! Include sweet or funny memories of the two of you together, ways she’s helped you or encouraged you, and so on. Then fold up each piece of paper, stick it in the jar, and put the lid back on. You can decorate the jar too, if you’d like. She can keep it in a special place and read back through your memories anytime, for years to come.
7. A Donation in Her Name
For the mother who has everything or just prefers to keep things simple, consider making a donation to the Humane Society in her honor.
