The sixth episode of Shelter Me, a PBS series celebrating the human-animal bond, airs this month. We at MUTTS just love this series and are excited to announce that the newest episode, hosted by actress Kristen Bell (Frozen, Veronica Mars), includes a feature segment with our very own Patrick McDonnell!
Through inspiring and uplifting stories about shelter pets, Shelter Me (supported in part by the Petco Foundation) gives a voice to a range of worthwhile animal organizations. In its five previous episodes, the show has featured an organization that trains search-and-rescue dogs, a mobile spay-and-neuter clinic, a group of volunteer pilots that fly endangered shelter animals to safety — and much more!
The newest episode, titled “Hearts and Paws,” follows MUTTS creator Patrick McDonnell as he visits Animal Care Centers of New York City (ACC). With a pen and sketch pad, Patrick gets a close look inside the largest shelter in New York City to find inspiring stories to share with his readers.
