We’re happy to announce a collaboration between MUTTS creator Patrick McDonnell and The Dodo, the wildly popular digital media brand known for its heartwarming videos about animals and the humans who care about them.
Patrick and The Dodo have teamed up to create a collection of social media-based “Shelter Stories” to promote adoptions for real-life shelter animals. This short series of animated illustrations will appear on The Dodo’s Snapchat account starting Sunday, October 28, as well as on The Dodo’s Instagram Stories on Thursday, November 8.
The eight adoptable dogs and cats depicted in this series are from the following nonprofit organizations: Animal Care Centers of NYC, St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center, Muttville Senior Dog Rescue, and Secondhand Hounds.
Patrick introduced his bi-annual “Shelter Stories” series to the MUTTS comic strip in 1998 as a way to pay homage to animal rescue workers and inspire readers to adopt from their local shelters. Now, two decades later, we’re enthused to partner with The Dodo to share this message with even more animal lovers around the world.
Want to help us spread the word? Interested in seeing the illustrations Patrick created exclusively for this project? Follow The Dodo on Instagram and Snapchat, and tune in to their Stories in the coming days Comment if you love the series. Share the posts if you know someone who may want to adopt an animal. And most importantly, help us spread the word about the importance of supporting your local shelters and rescues!
