We are continuously wowed by the MUTTS community, which is filled with people who go above and beyond to make a positive difference for animals. For example, we often receive messages from compassionate, proactive foster fur parents who’d like us spread the word about specific foster animals in need of adoption.
While we’re not able to “advertise” all of these animals individually, we love this kind of passion — and we want to help!
That’s why, starting this Friday, we will begin hosting a weekly open thread on our Facebook page where foster fur parents can share information about cats, dogs, and other animals in need of forever homes.
In the comment section for these Foster Friday posts, we encourage you to post pictures and descriptions of the foster animals in your care. If you’d like, you can even include fun details about their personalities — like whether they get along with cats, dogs, or kids — and any other helpful information a potential adopter may be interested in. Lastly, please be sure to include your general location in your comment. Our goal is to facilitate connections between foster parents and potential adopters in nearby areas, and to spread awareness about the lifesaving benefits of fostering.
You can read more on this topic in a recent MUTTS guest post from author Glen David Gold, who penned a delightful personal essay on the joy of caring for foster kittens.
We are grateful to Glen and to all the other animal lovers who foster and volunteer for the benefit of homeless animals in need, and we hope MUTTS’ Foster Fridays on Facebook will help to connect even more animals with forever homes.
