It’s Follow Fur-Day! That means it’s time to share a few of our favorite animal advocates, rescue groups, and humane influencers. We love following these accounts and think you will, too. Enjoy!
Hot for Food is a vegan lifestyle website with a focus on food and recipes. Run by Lauren Toyota, a television host and producer, and John Diemer, an audio engineer, this blog is notable for its beautiful photography and high-quality instructional cooking videos. We especially love their vegan versions of classic comfort foods such as burgers, nachos, and “crab” cakes. Check ’em out on social media at the following links:

Steve — known by his Instagram username “Wolfgang2242” — lives in Colorado and has dedicated his life to rescuing senior and other hard-to-adopt animals (which include dogs, cats, ducks, and even a pot-bellied pig). In an interview with Mashable, Steve explained that he was inspired to help homeless animals after the loss of his beloved dog Wolfgang. “If when a pet dies you allow another one to live in their place,” he said, “it is incredibly powerful. You have both honored your fallen pet’s life and given dignity to another that probably wouldn’t have had that opportunity.”

Love corgis? You’ll adore QBSDR, a rescue group located in Southern California that helps to rehabilitate and find homes for corgis and corgi mixes. Their website includes photos and detailed profiles of all current “adoptables” — and if you reside nearby, you can even apply to foster one of these cuties! If not, you can still support QBSDR by following them on social media. (If, like everyone else in the world, you find joy in looking at pictures of cute smiling puppies, you won’t be disappointed.)
