The results are in! The name of Edison Wetlands Association’s newly adopted Vietnamese pot-bellied pig is … Edison! It was the clear winner, with over 30% of the votes. Hamlet and Pigasso were not far behind.
Little Edison has been given a home at the Triple C Ranch and Nature Center in Edison, NJ. The farm sits in the heart of the 1,250-acre Dismal Swamp Conservation Area, which contains environmentally sensitive wetlands, upland forest and meadows and is home to over 200 species of birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians.
Patrick added his gratitude to the readers, “Thanks to everyone who suggested names and voted. There were so many creative naming ideas for the new EWA piggy, and I love the outcome of the voting. His new name, Edison, suits him well. He is very smart and inventive (and even cuter than the photos and videos). And he is lucky, since he has a cozy home at EWA’s Triple C Ranch for life . . . Since the MUTTS strips appear in the newspaper about 3 months after I draw them, Edison will become a MUTTS character, and a friend to Earl and Mooch, in the Spring of 2014.”
EWA’s Triple C Ranch is open to the public on weekends from April to November. EWA will host a special meet-and-greet with piglet Edison Saturday, December 7, from 11 AM to 2 PM. Please visit TripleCRanch.org for directions.
Since we were in a holiday giving mood, we chose two lucky voters at random to receive signed prints of the upcoming strip featuring Edison! Our winners are Kimberly Ann Chapman and Sharon Dale.
