Attention MUTTS lovers: We’re putting together a feature to showcase your very own animal rescue stories—and we need your help!

Did you rescue your furry (or feathered) animal companion from a shelter or other nonprofit? Was he or she a stray? Are you currently fostering a special friend until you find them a forever home?

If so, we’d love to hear from you!

How to submit:

  1. Snap a photo that includes your animal AND a paper/cardboard sign with a short version of his or her rescue story (see examples below).
  2. In your email message, tell us briefly (1-4 sentences) about your pet’s personality.
  3. Include your name and location.
  4. Send it to [email protected]!

Examples:

From Ali Datko (Staff Writer at MUTTS) in Orlando, Florida:
“Holly, now six months old, is a border collie and blue heeler mix. She loves to cuddle, chase butterflies, dig holes, and eat sweet potatoes. She snores loudly, and often sleeps with her tongue sticking out.”

From Nikki Tramontana (Designer at MUTTS) in Lawrenceville, New Jersey:
“MalMal’s favorite activities include sleeping, playing with her carrot-shaped catnip toy, and lying in warm laundry right after it comes out of the dryer.

Greetings: I understand rescue pictures and stories are being welcomed. I notice you have a few kids books. I am writing a children’s fiction book series, “Furry Tail Matters”. Books 1 and 2 are published on Amazon. The books are all about shelter pets living in shelters, telling their own stories. Author Kama Einhorn has written over 40 children’s books for Simon & Schuster. Also, she has written content for the TV shows Nickelodeon and Sesame Street. She said of Book 2, “the author writes with compassion, warmth and skill”, referring to my Detective Doggie Dunkin book. Do you consider submissions of this kind? Thank you. Blessings, Carol.
