Hello friends,
In our last monthly letter we suggested that spring was knocking on our doors. Days later, a winter storm swept across the country and created emergency conditions for our friends in Texas, Oklahoma, and many other areas. Wow. If you experienced hardships due to this storm, we hope you and your loved ones are safe now, and that you were able to find (or provide) a helping hand wherever it was needed.
If you’re interested in learning about timely pet resources in the Texas area, check out our blog featuring some of the animal organizations that are assisting pets and pet parents in the wake of winter weather.
Next time, we’ll consult Sourpuss’s news team for a pre-letter weather report.
In other animal welfare news: On February 25, the HSUS Animal Rescue Team saved approximately 140 neglected dogs from a property in Florida. These pups, now safe, are being cared for by RedRover responders at an undisclosed shelter location.
You may be aware that a percentage of every www.the-mutts.com purchase benefits the Animal Rescue Team, to fund lifesaving work just like this. As animal lovers, we wish rescue operations like this didn’t need to exist — We wish all animals were treated with love! — but we are so grateful to the experts who are committed to saving animals who deserve better.
If you’re in the mood for a new read, or you’re searching for a great gift for a fellow animal lover, check out Patrick’s forthcoming book MUTTS Go Green: Earth-Friendly Tips and Comic Strips! It will be published March 31, but it’s available now for pre-order!
This special collection of MUTTS comic strips focuses on environmental friendliness and animal protection, and it includes suggestions for creating a greener future for our furry friends and future generations. It was created with young readers in mind, but we think anyone who loves MUTTS, animals, and nature will enjoy it.
Have you been thinking about “going green”? Are you already taking personal steps to make your home or community a greener place? Have tips to share, or questions to ask? We’d love to hear your thoughts.
Sending happy and green wishes to all.
Team MUTTS
